To celebrate World Responsible Tourism Day on the 10th of November, and initiative by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, all participants in the local tourism industry are invited to attend the launch of the “West Coast Peninsula Recycling Awareness Campaign”.

Responsible Tourism is the minimising impacts and maximising benefits of tourism on society, the local economy, and the environment. Responsible Tourism is gaining momentum worldwide, as more and more organisations realise the impacts tourism can have on the environment and local communities in which they operate.

In support of the World Responsible Tourism Day, the Saldanha Bay Tourism Organisation are focussing on raising awareness of the importance of recycling, and providing simple advice on what can be recycled and how easy it really can be. This commitment to recycling awareness and waste management will culminate in approximately 4 weeks time with a bigger recycling day event.

Come along on Wednesday 10th November 2010 at 12:00 at the World Focus Recyclers , 3 Joubert Street (3 doors from Hyundai ) Vredenburg. Hear from local participants and see exactly what happens next with your recyclables.  Feel free to bring along your cardboard boxes, paper, also rinsed tin cans, rinsed glass and plastic bottles.
